Mr Howes mainly ran the ferrous side of the business while Mr Brand concentrated on the non ferrous until he semi retired in 1965. The company was then managed by Mr Ron Pharaoh for several years until sold to Mr Michael Wood.

For the last 7 years Mr Mark Bamfield has owned and successfully run Brand and Howes after being an employee of Mr Wood for many years.

Brand & Howes has expanded in recent years and is now the only surviving metal merchants in Chelmsford.
